CLEVELAND COUNTY, Oklahoma -

Fire crews stayed busy overnight and Sunday morning putting out flare-ups in Cleveland County southeast of Lake Thunderbird.

No new evacuations were ordered, and no additional structures have burned, according to officials.  As of 12 p.m. Sunday, Post Oak and Etowah roads are back open, and residents who live in that area can return.

But Highway 9 from Highway 77 in Norman to 168th Avenue on the east side of Lake Thunderbird remains closed.

Most of the larger flare-ups Sunday morning occurred in the area of 156th Avenue and Cedar Lane.

Multiple fire agencies remain on scene to watch the fires as the winds are now blowing to the south from the north. When the fires first flared up Friday, winds were blowing to the north out of the south.

One firefighter said the new wind direction will blow flames back over land that has already been burned, and that should help slow the fires down.

Power crews are also in the area to help restore electricity to homes.
