The former inmate claims work he did while in jail was used for Sheriff Whetsel's campaign signs.
OKLAHOMA CITY -
Oklahoma County Sheriff John Whetsel is on the defense after
a former jail inmate is accusing the sheriff's office of wrongdoing.
The former inmate says he cut rebar poles and painted the
tips of them white earlier this month in the jail's maintenance shed.
The inmate says when he got out of jail he noticed those
same rebar poles were being used on Whetsel re-election signs. The
sheriff admits two of his employees supplied inmates with rebar.
Whetsel is also calling for an investigation by the OSBI.
