Oklahoma County Sheriff's deputies say an early morning chase in Choctaw reached speeds up to 90 mph Monday.

A deputy was called to investigate a missing Ford F-250 pickup truck in the 1800 block of S. Peebly Road around 5 a.m. on July 23. When the deputy arrived, he and the victim saw someone driving the stolen truck down the road.

The deputy got into his patrol car and attempted to stop the driver. The man refused to pull over and sped away. The chase lasted nearly 20 minutes and speeds reached up to 90 mph before the suspected crashed through a road barricade at S.E. 104th Street and Harrah Road.

The suspect ran from the crash scene and into a wooded area. Deputies caught him a few minutes later when he ran back out of the wooded area.

The suspect was identified as 32-year-old Joshua Poff. Deputies say when they searched the stolen pickup truck, they found methamphetamine and prescription drugs that belonged to Poff.

Poff was booked into jail for driving under the influence of drugs, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, eluding a deputy and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
