2nd Annual Blazing Sun Run Set To Kickoff In OKC

Right now, people across the metro are joining forces to support those who've put their lives on the line for freedom, and there's still time for you to get in on the effort.

Hundreds of civilians and soldiers will be running to support the troops in the 2^nd Annual Blazing Sun Run put on by the Karen Stark at the HUGS project.

Marine Corporal Anthony Merchant says Oklahoma's military support goes above and beyond the call of duty. And while Oklahoma heat can feel pretty bad, Merchant says it doesn't compare to the heat in Afghanistan.

"The guys over there have it a lot worse, it can only get worse," Cpl. Merchant said. "I'm excited."

The run will take place on Saturday, July 7 at Stars and Stripes Park at 7:30 a.m. You can go and sign up the day of and support the troops.
