Motor vehicle collisions are the leading cause of death and injury for teenagers, according to the Oklahoma City Police Department. To help raise awareness of this issue, the police department and the National Traffic Safety Academy are hosting a "Collision Avoidance Training" for teen driver ages 16 to 19.
The two-day program is designed to teach teen drivers how to drive safely and avoid accidents, according to police.
The training will take place on July 6 and 7, and on August 3 and 4, at the police department's training center, located at 800 N. Portland Avenue in Oklahoma City.
Students who would like to participate in the program must have a valid SDL and have access to an insured vehicle.
