Man Accused In Beating Death Of Cushing Woman Pleads Guilty
CUSHING, Oklahoma -
A man accused in the beating death of a Cushing woman has pleaded guilty to a felony murder charge on Friday.
According to the Cushing Police Department, Benjamin Littlesun, 23, entered a guilty plea in the slaying of Cushing resident, Ave Marie King.
Littlesun was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
King was found badly beaten in an alleyway in Cushing back in December, 2011. Investigators said King was nude from the waist down. She was taken to the hospital where she later died.
Later that day, authorities arrested Benjamin Littlesun after positively identifying hand prints left on a trash can near King's body.
Prosecutors later filed a felony murder charge against Littlesun in King's death.
"I am very pleased that this case has been resolved for the King family," said Chief Terry Brannon. "This is another step in the continued healing process for the King family."
