OKLAHOMA CITY -

Oklahoma City police have arrested a man accused of sexually assaulting a woman after he came to her apartment to hook up an illegal cable connection.

The woman told police 40-year-old Rickey Dunn Franklin came to her apartment on July 3. She said after she paid him, he raped her.

The woman went to the hospital after the attack to be checked for sexually transmitted diseases, but she said she did not report the assault at first because she was afraid Franklin would retaliate against her.

The woman eventually reported the rape to police, and investigators interviewed Franklin. He said he had consensual sex with the victim, and denied going to the apartment to install illegal cable.

When police went to the apartment, they discovered a neighbor's cable line had been cut, which led credibility to the victim's story. Officers arrested Franklin on one count of first-degree rape, and on an unrelated count of failure to pay child support.
