The Oklahoma City Thunder has agreed to a two-year deal with free agent center Hasheem Thabeet.

The 7'3 Thabeet met with the Thunder early this week and had a physical on Tuesday in OKC. The news was first reported by Yahoo! Sports' Marc Spears.

Thabeet was the No. 2 overall pick for the Memphis Grizzlies in the 2009 NBA Draft, but has been a disappointment in his career thus far. Thabeet has averaged just 10 minutes per game and 2.2 points per game.

Thabeet was traded to the Houston Rockets in the 2010-2011 season, and then dealt to Portland in March of this year. Thabeet played in just 20 games last season.

The signing won't be official until July 11, when the NBA allows deals to be finalized, but this move all but assures Nazr Mohammed, who is a free agent this year, won't be back next season with the Thunder.

Thabeet was a star at Connecticut from 2006-2009 and is the first Tanzanian-born NBA player.
