Packed McClain County Courtroom For Sentencing In Deadly DUI Crash

Friends and family crowded into a courtroom in Purcell Tuesday for the plea and sentencing of a man charged with five counts of first-degree manslaughter following a deadly DUI accident.

McClain County prosecutors said Jordan Powell was drunk in September 2010 when he crashed his pickup truck on U.S. 77, about three miles south of Purcell. Five people riding in the vehicle with him were killed.

Prosecutors said Powell could receive four years to life for each count. New 9's Dana Hertneky is in the courtroom awaiting the judge's decision. Stay with News 9 and News9.com for updates.
