Driver Cited In Memorial Day Boating Accident On Arcadia Lake

Edmond police cited a man for reckless operation of a vehicle after a teenager was injured on Arcadia Lake.

John "Danny" Hoey was tubing on the lake on Memorial Day when he fell into the water. Police say Alejandro Gonzalez didn't realize the boy had fallen off the tube, and accidentally struck Hoey with the boat.

Witnesses say Gonzalez and another person jumped into the water to help Hoey. Hoey was flown by Mediflight to a nearby hospital. He suffered a fractured pelvis.

Police issued a citation to Gonzalez and impounded his boat during the investigation.
