Oklahoma City police say a man pretended he was about to buy merchandise from a convenience store, but instead he swiped some cash and ran away.

The man walked into the 7-Eleven at S.W. 89th Street and S. May Avenue at 12:30 a.m. on May 4. The clerk said the suspect walked up to the counter with a pack of gum. When the clerk rang up the sale and opened the cash register, the man leaned over, grabbed a handful of money from the drawer and ran out of the store.

The suspect was seen driving away in a black El Camino. Police have released a photo of the suspect taken by a surveillance camera. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (405) 235-7300.
