I don't' think the state needs this new Open Carry Law signed yesterday, it could cause confusion when police respond to a scene, and will make a lot of people uneasy around those wearing guns on their hips.
Here is what you had to say.
Ron from Pauls Valley writes: "As a former Police Officer I believe we should have the concealed but not the open carry."
Gene from Tuttle responded: "Once again, Kelly, you don't get to change my constitutional rights to suit yourself. Sorry, you'll just have to be 'unsettled'."
But Dennis of OKC says: "I think this is one of the most ridiculous laws passed recently."
Lavonda in Mustang likes the law: "I'm happy the Gov. Fallin sign this into law. It's our rights if you agree or not...So get over it!"
Chris in Minco said: "You will not see many people practicing open carry even with the law in effect, because most of us still want the advantage of the element of surprise."
Eric in Edmond writes: "I don't want to be anywhere near a gun-toting idiot who can't hit the broad side of a barn in a real life and death situation."
But Matt in OKC argues: "It is a step towards RESTORATION of a right already granted by our US constitution."
Finally, John in Norman writes: "Just when this state is trying to advance, the first thing tourists and business visitors will see are idiots walking around with guns strapped on!"
