Search Underway For Two Okfuskee County Jail Escapees

Authorities are searching for two escaped inmates in Okemah.

According to the Ofuskee County Sheriff's Office, three inmates escaped out of a window of the Ofuskee County Jail in Okemah on Monday, May 7. Gerald Adams, 40, and Keith Dewayne Smith, Sr., 45, are still on the loose.

A third inmate, Tanner Hicks, 21, also of Okemah was caught outside of the jail shortly after the escape.

Adams was being held for burglary and assault and battery. Smith was in jail for assault with a dangerous weapon.

Both were last seen in the eastern part of Okemah city limits and considered armed and dangerous.
