OKLAHOMA CITY – While the Oklahoma City Thunder were at home winning another playoff game, the RedHawks were far from the comforts of home, getting blown out.
OKC was shut out 5-0 on Monday night by the Albuquerque Isotopes in an all around ugly and frustrating game.
Despite not getting a run in the game, the RedHawks actually racked up eight hits in the game, the same amount as Albuquerque.
They simply couldn't convert on any of the hits, leaving five runners in scoring position on the night without advancing them home.
The game was a shutout on both sides until the fifth inning, when the Isotopes brought home a run off the bat of Josh Bard.
Bard came through again in the next inning, picking up another RBI to go with two RBIs from Jeff Baisley to give the Isotopes a 4-0 lead.
They added an insurance run in the eighth that certainly wasn't necessary on the way to the win.
Brett Oberholzer picked up the loss for Oklahoma City, throwing 5.1 innings and giving up seven hits and four runs.
John Ely got the win for Albuquerque.
The game set OKC back to 16-9 and kicked off a four-game series between the two teams on the road at Albuquerque. The second game will take place on Tuesday evening with the first pitch set for 7:35 p.m.
