OKLAHOMA CITY -- An Air Force veteran recovers in an Oklahoma City hospital following a deadly car accident, while the search for his traveling companion heats up over the Internet.

Adam Factor was among the survivors of a 16-vehicle pileup on March 31 along I-40 near Erick, Oklahoma. His bulldog, Eva, is believed to have also survived, but remains missing.

"A group of volunteers went out to the area she went missing this weekend and posted flyers all over the place," said Rebecca Thomas, Adam's finance.

Adam was traveling from Alabama to California to take a new job, when he was involved in the accident that killed two people and injured 12 others. Adam's car was smashed between two semis. He suffered internal injuries and bleeding, two broken legs and a broken pelvis.

"Even to this day, I don't know how he survived," said Rebecca. "And at the time, I didn't even think that Eva could be alive."

Adam Factor And The Search For Eva

But according to some people at the scene, Eva was spotted at least twice. In one sighting, someone told Rebecca they saw Eva tied up to a maroon sedan with a bowl of water.

"I know she's extremely special and I know whoever has her, probably does not want to give her up," said Rebecca. "But she is essential, I think, to the recovery for Adam and I would really hope that whoever has her would bring her back and do the right thing."

Adam is now out of ICU and continues on his road to recovery. The job in California is waiting on him. Now, he just hopes Eva will be too.

"Adam just adores this dog, adores her, and I do too," Rebecca said.

Luckily, Eva did have a micro-chip, so if she is taken to a vet and scanned, she will come up as missing and Adam will be notified.
