Lawmaker Against A To F Grading System In Oklahoma Schools

Posted: Updated:
OKLAHOMA CITY -

The fight to pass a law that would require all Oklahoma schools to be ranked on an A through F grading system intensifies. The State Board of Education adopted the rules last month.

Now, a representative has filed a House Joint Resolution against the rule saying it focuses on numbers instead of performance and goes against a state law which rates schools on a zero to 1500 scale.

Under the proposed system, schools would be evaluated on graduations rates, ACT scores and attendance rates.

The joint resolution is expected to be heard next week.
