The Woodward tornado destroyed dozens of buildings and killed six people. But there is also an amazing story of new life.

News 9's complete storm coverage.

"I felt it hit once, and then we started tumbling, we were in a closet," Woodward resident Marvin Rains said.

From the route of Mother Nature comes the joy of life.

"I don't even know what to feel anymore," Marvin Rains said.

Rains shielded his mother, wife, and pregnant daughter when the tornado ripped through their home.

"The first thing I thought about was I hope to god I do not lose this baby," Rains' daughter, Amber Pierce said.

The family did survive as their trailer rolled three times, trapping them under the rubble for 45 minutes. But others were not as fortunate. At least four of the six people killed by the April 15 tornado were their neighbors.

But through the tragedy, a little happiness is born.

"It's just a miracle, because so many people passed away, and out of all of that, life is actually given," Pierce said.

The shake-up put Amber Pierce in labor.

"I cried the second I heard her scream. I just started crying, I was so happy that I got to see her and hold her. The first thing I said was ‘hello, my tornado baby,'" Pierce said.

Pierce delivered Logan Grace to her family, only by the grace of god.

"She was a product of a big, big tragedy, and she was a miracle and a blessing," Pierce said.

The family lost everything in the tornado. If you would like to donate baby clothes or any other supplies, you can do so at 120 Santa Fe, in Woodward.

A fund has also been set up through First Baptist Church under "Amber and Logan Pierce."
