Oklahomans love the Thunder, and so do the Thunder's employees.
It's more than just a job, there is a genuine affection for the organization. One employee decided to put his Thunder devotion to music, and it got him fired.
Brent Byers, aka "Lunchmeat," was, until Saturday, a Thunder StormChaser, a cheerleader of sorts, an $8 an hour game-day employee until his entertaining and clean rap video called "Thunder Your Butts Off," hit the Internet.
At the start of the video "Lunchmeat" half-heartedly expresses concern that the video could cost him his job. He told me tonight he didn't think it would because he was just showing how much he cares for the Thunder.
But he admits he did sign an employment agreement covering such things.
A Thunder spokesman told me tonight they don't discuss personnel matters.
Come on guys, I value the image you've created for this team, but these guys didn't damage it in any way, just the opposite.
Kevin Durant has a rap video, why can't "Lunchmeat?!"
I'm Kelly Ogle and that's My 2 Cents.
