Rogers County Police Chase Leads To Capture Of Pryor Man

A 34-year-old Pryor man was booked into the Rogers County Jail on 14 complaints after a suspected drug buy launched a police pursuit.

A suspected drug deal ended in a police pursuit involving several area agencies Friday night. The chase started at the Verdigris area QuikTrip on U.S. Highway 66 and ended with a crash near Pine and Mingo in Tulsa.

The suspect appeared to have minor injuries after wrecking his Toyota Camry.

Rogers County Sheriff's Deputies arrested David Leon Strickland, 34, of Pryor.

Strickland has been booked on a total of 14 complaints including distribution of a controlled substance, destroying evidence, assault and battery on a police officer, driving with a revoked license, eluding, resisting arrest and six counts of running a roadblock.

Other law enforcement agencies involved in the chase included Claremore and Tulsa Police and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
