OKLAHOMA CITY -

Many people have protested them since the beginning, but full body scanners will be installed at Will Rogers World Airport Monday.

No one News 9 talked to loved the idea of being subjected to the scans in Oklahoma City.

But Will Rogers Airport officials told News9 they plan to leave two lines with metal detectors open so funneling everyone in for a scan doesn't take too much time.

Tulsa International Airport was one of the first to get the body scanning systems. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) told News 9 the machines and the images they scan will be exactly like what we're getting here in Oklahoma City.

They don't show specific body images, but the scans will detect potentially dangerous items, such as explosives and weapons.

TSA says it's a matter of safety, but some travelers aren't happy.

"I think it's invasive, I don't think they can catch who they're looking for," business traveler, Don Gunderson said.

Gunderson gets on a plane two to three times a week and says every airport he goes to has different rules, so timing trips can be tough.

He also doesn't like seeing elderly people subjected to the scans or kids.

Jessica Willeford doesn't have a problem with the scan, if it means she's really safer.

"I mean, I'm all for safety so it doesn't bother me. I do know a lot of people don't like it but I don't have a problem with it," Willeford said.

Two body scan machines are to be installed on Monday, and eventually we'll have three.

TSA told News 9 that on a daily basis, the airports with scanners catch people with weapons, guns and drugs.

Will Rogers was on long list to get every airport equipped with body scanners, it was just a matter of time and making room.
