Estranged Husband, Girlfriend Arrested In Midwest City Murder-For-Hire Plot
MIDWEST CITY, Oklahoma - Midwest City Police have arrested Fabion Brown, 24, and his girlfriend Emily Matheson, 23, after evidence revealed both were involved in the murder of pregnant mother Jessica McPherson-Brown.
The two now face charges of conspiracy to commit murder. Police said it appears McPherson-Brown was killed for insurance money.
Fabion Brown and Jessica McPherson-Brown were in the middle of divorce proceedings when McPherson-Brown was shot and killed. The 23-year-old was found dead in her Midwest City home on January 11.
A neighbor called police when he saw her two young children, dressed in their pajamas, playing outside alone.
Although Fabion Brown and Matheson are behind bars, police said the alleged shooter, Brodric Glover, is still on the run. Glover is wanted on two complaints of first-degree murder.
Judge Ray Elliot, Oklahoma County District Judge, signed an arrest warrant Tuesday afternoon for Glover. Police said they spoke to Glover over the weekend, but he refused to tell them his location. Police are asking anyone who knows where he is to contact the Midwest City Police Department.
"Some of the basic details we know at this point are Fabion Brown, along with Matheson, conspired to kill Jessica and her unborn child in exchange for a small amount of cash," said Midwest City Police Chief Brandon Clabes. "It appears they recruited Glover to commit the act of murder."
Police also said Fabion Brown was upset that McPherson-Brown was planning to take their two children out of state.
Fabion Brown called News9's Lisa Monahan after his girlfriend was arrested and said he had nothing to do with the murder. When asked if he recognized Glover or the two juveniles shown in surveillance photos released by Midwest City Police, Fabion said he knew one of the men from a club where he sometimes works as a DJ.
Chief Clabes said the two teenagers who were seen in the surveillance photos were likely with Glover at the time of Brown's death. Those two teenagers were arrested on unrelated charges and additional charges may be filed against them.
We will hear more from Fabion's call to News 9 throughout the day.
