BAGRAM, Afghanistan -

Editor's note:  A earlier version of this story reported that the USO was naming a section of its Pat Tillman facility in honor of Specialist Butcher.  The USO is actually naming a garden for her, instead.

An Oklahoma National Guard soldier who made the ultimate sacrifice receives a humbling honor in Afghanistan.

Specialist Sarina Butcher from Checotah was the first female and youngest 45th Infantry soldier to die in combat. She was just 19 when she was killed last November.

Her legacy will live on at Bagram Air Force Base in Afghanistan.  The USO says it is naming a garden in her memory.

A plaque with Specialist Butcher's story will be installed in the garden once it's planted in the spring.

Specialist Butcher's family tells News On 6 they are extremely proud and honored.
