Oklahoma City and Village police confirm they have captured one suspect in a carjacking which happened this evening.
Oklahoma City police say the chase, crash and short manhunt all started as a report of a stolen SUV.
A couple living near 1600 block of West Chester say a man held them up at gunpoint at their home and stole their car.
Police on patrol spotted that SUV near 101st and Western and when the suspect did not pull over a chase ensued.
The suspect crashed into a van that was parked in the front yard of a home on Georgia and Dublin, about a mile from where the chase started.
Neighbors tell News 9 they were putting the kids to bed when they heard the crash.
Police say that's when the suspect took off on foot and at some point tried to take off his clothes.
Officers with K9's brought in to track the suspect found the clothes strewn about the neighborhood.
The suspect was located at or inside someone's home just a block from the crash site.
Police are not releasing the suspect's name at this time.
Police are still searching for the suspect's gun .
Neighbor's say it is usually a quiet safe neighborhood and they expect it to return to normal after the crash site is cleaned up and the officers are gone.
