Oklahoma City police are investigating a homicide after a man was shot to death in southwest Oklahoma City Monday night.

Officers responded to the call of the shooting at around 9 p.m. near S.W. 8th Street and Brookline Avenue in Oklahoma City.

According to police, one man was shot to death and was found outside his vehicle in the area.

"What we know right now is at about 8:30 we responded to the scene in reference to a man down. Officers arrived about the same time. Some motorists called in reference to some shots fired in the area," said Lt. Jay Barnett with the Oklahoma City Police Department.

Police said they do not have much information on the suspect at this point of the investigation.

"We are in the process of developing some suspect information, but obviously it's very early in the investigation. There's nothing we can release on that at this point," Lt. Barnett said.
