OKLAHOMA CITY -

Oklahoma City Police have identified a man who told News 9 he shot his own son.

Police said 72-year-old D.E. Abbott walked into the Flying J Truck Stop at Interstate 35 and N.E. 122nd Street Wednesday afternoon and said there'd been a shooting. An employee called 911 and told them the shooting victim was located in the 11000 block of N. Air Depot.

When police arrived at the home on N. Depot, they found the body of 39-year-old Perry Abbott, D.E. Abbott's son.

Police arrested D.E. Abbott at the truck stop, and carried him out to a patrol car. While he was being transported, News 9's Michael Konopasek asked Abbott if he killed his son. Abbott replied, "I don't know. I shot him. I know that."
