OKLAHOMA CITY -

Police were busy investigating a homicide at a house in the 7900 block of McKinley in Southwest Oklahoma City Monday.

Officers released few details about the killing, but neighbors in the area said they knew something like this would happen eventually.

"I came home at 9:15 and there were six cop cars and crime scene tape and police pulled up in front of our car and blocked off the neighborhood," said Lynetta Roberts, who lived across the street from the crime scene.

Roberts was returning home from a weekend trip when police told her about the deadly shooting.

"We've been concerned that it's a drug house for quite some time, but we didn't have any concrete evidence to know what to do about it."

Roberts said there has been a lot of traffic at the house with cars pulling up, staying for a short time, then driving away. She has also seen several different people go in and out of the house.

The shooting happened Sunday night. Oklahoma Police officers responded to a first-degree burglary call at the address. An officer on scene said when they entered the house, they found the body of a Hispanic male in his mid-20s.

"I'm not surprised," said Markus Herron, who has lived in the neighborhood for 46 years. "I don't really know what goes on over there, but I've seen a lot of traffic going back and forth."

Herron said several tenants have lived in the house in recent years and added there were children living in the house with several adults.

"We know most of the neighbors up and down the street, but we don't know them at all," said Roberts, talking about the tenants in the house where the killing happened. "It's really a quiet neighborhood, and one we're comfortable with our kids outside playing and riding their bikes without being overseen and we've never had any problems."

That was until the recent shooting. Roberts said the house has caused problems in the neighborhood before with screaming, and loud, late-night parties.

Police did not release any information about possible suspects Monday afternoon. They could not confirm the identity of the victim.

A spokeswoman for the Oklahoma Police Department said they planned on having a briefing Tuesday.
