Oklahoma Lawmaker Wants 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' Policy Enforced

Posted: Updated:
OKLAHOMA CITY -

One state lawmaker wants Oklahoma to enforce the military's previous "Don't Ask- Don't Tell" policy on the National Guard.

State Representative Mike Reynolds said the state can set the standards for the Oklahoma National Guard's membership.

Reynold's bill would re-implement the policy that prohibited gays and lesbians from openly serving in the military.

The "don't ask, don't tell" policy was put in place in 1993 and officially ended last September.
