STILLWATER, Oklahoma – OSU freshman point guard Cezar Guerrero was back at practice on Wednesday after suffering a collision with a teammate on Monday.

Guerrero was wearing a neck brace and dressed in sweats, spending most of his time on the bench but getting up occasionally to walk around and stay loose.

OSU coach Travis Ford said it's great to have him back and into the learning flow again.

"Hopefully by next week we'll have him back on the court," Ford said.

He also said the doctors have indicated Guerrero's injury is nothing major, but the soreness in his neck will keep him out for the time being.

"(His neck is) just a little bit weak, so we're just trying to stabilize it, and it's just precautionary," Ford said.

Oklahoma State had an open practice Wednesday and introduced fans to several new players.

Guerrero was a four-star recruit out of St. John Bosco High School in Bellflower, Calif.

Ford said he expects Guerrero to compete for playing time at the point guard spot this year.

"He's a guy who can create off the dribble, got really good ball handling skills and can really shoot it," he said. "The first three or four days of practice he showed a lot of toughness."
