Bevo Meatball Sandwiches

Bevo Meatball Sandwiches


• 1 pound ground beef

• 1 pound ground pork

• 4 slices of french bread, cut into cubes

• 1/2 cup half and half

• 1 teaspoon sea salt

• 1/2 teaspoon pepper

• 1 tablespoon minced garlic

• 1 onion, chopped fine

• 2 tablespoon olive oil

• 1/4 cup parmesan cheese

• 1 egg

• 1/4 cup chopped Italian parsley

• 2 jars of spaghetti sauce

• 1 cup beef broth

• 6 french bread hoagies

• 6 slices provolone cheese


1. In a small bowl place bread cubes. Pour milk over the bread. Set aside.

2. Using a medium sized sauce pan, sauté onion and garlic in olive oil over medium heat. Cook till onion is translucent. Remove from heat and allow to cool.

3. In a Medium sized bowl, combine ground beef and ground pork. Add in sea salt and pepper. Stir in sautéed onions mixture. Mix all of this together. I like to use my hands since that seems to combine everything best. Add in bread and milk. Mix into meat mixture. Add in parmesan cheese, parsley and eggs. Mix till combined.

4. Using large cookie scoop out meatballs and place in a hot skillet with olive oil. Brown the meatballs on all sides and then place in a slow cooker. Pour spaghetti sauce and beef broth over the meatballs. Cook on High for 3 hours.

5. To serve place 3 meatballs on a french bread hoagie. Top with provolone cheese.
