EDMOND, Oklahoma – Edmond police are on the hunt for some copper thieves who stole about 3000 pounds of copper wiring.

According to police, it disappeared over the weekend from a business near Edmond Road and Kelly Avenue. The business owner said someone cut the lock off a gate around the storage area and stole a tandem wheeled trailer.

The owner said he has approximately 3000 pounds of cut up industrial sized copper wiring in the trailer. He estimated the value of the recycled copper to be around $9000.

According to the owner, the trailer had a wooden floor. The sides of the trailer were made of wood, and on top of the wood he had bright red metal straps tacked down. The passenger taillight is broken, and the tongue is adjustable to ball size.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call Edmond police at (405) 359-4420.
