MUSKOGEE, Oklahoma -- State leaders broke ground Wednesday on a chapel at Camp Gruber in Muskogee.

Soldiers said it means a lot to them that the Army is not only looking out for their physical and mental needs, but their spiritual needs as well.

They haven't had a chapel before, so the chaplin and troops had to find a place to hold services.

"I've conducted services at 2:00 in the morning with a red lens flashlight and a red letter edition of the Bible which changed real quick when I turned that red light on it," said Col. Michael Taylor, Oklahoma National Guard Chaplin.

Governor Fallin says crews will work very hard to get the chapel built by April when a number of soldiers are set to come home from Afghanistan.
