OKLAHOMA CITY – The 15th Annual Septemberfest is scheduled to take place at the governor's mansion and the Oklahoma History Center, on Saturday, September 10 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Sponsored by the Friends of the Mansion, organizers say Septemberfest is a celebration of all things Oklahoma, including arts, children's activities, interactive exhibits, live entertainment and storytelling.

According to the event organizers, attractions during this year's Septemberfest include hay bale maze, historic reenactments, the Oklahoma Thunder Girls and a wide range of Oklahoma performers. Tours of the Governor's Mansion will be offered throughout the day for Oklahomans who want to experience this state treasure.

"Septemberfest is a unique Oklahoma event that offers a wide-range of fun activities for people of all ages. It also enables all Oklahomans to visit the Governor's Mansion and learn more about our wonderful state. Wade and I look forward to hosting our first Septemberfest this year and meeting a lot of wonderful people," said Governor Fallin.

According to the event organizers, Septemberfest also includes free admission to the Oklahoma History Center, located just across the street on N.E. 23rd Street. The museum will feature a variety of activities, performances and educational diversions, as well as its newest exhibit, "Pickin' and Grinnin': Roy Clark, Hee Haw and Country Humor" which explores Oklahoma's great contribution to the classic country show.

"One of the best things about Septemberfest is that a family can spend the day here without spending any money. Perhaps that's one of the reason Septemberfest has become a family favorite over the past 15 years," said Septemberfest Co-Chairman Jim Hasenbeck. "We are grateful to our generous sponsors and many volunteers for helping us keep Septemberfest a free, entertaining event for all Oklahomans."

Septemberfest is free and open to the public. Parking for the event is available at the State Capitol and at the Oklahoma City-County Health Department just east of the Mansion. Visitors can enter through the west gate on Phillips Avenue.

Northeast 23rd Street will be closed during the event to ensure safe crossing to and from the History Center.
