STILLWATER, Oklahoma -- Oklahoma State's long-delayed athletic village is starting to take shape.

University regents signed off Friday on a plan to expand the construction of a new tennis center, and work is set to begin next week on an indoor practice facility to be used primarily by the football team.

The scope of the tennis center was expanded to include six indoor courts in addition to 12 outdoor courts, plus locker rooms for players and officials. Plans call for a viewing area to be built if there is enough money left.

The indoor practice facility and the tennis center were among the projects announced when T. Boone Pickens gave a record-setting $165 million donation to Oklahoma State in 2006, and all were originally scheduled to be completed by this year.
