NORMAN, Oklahoma – A famous Oklahoma singer is asking for the public's help in nabbing a robber.

Someone walked into Toby Keith's BelMar golf club in Norman about 2 p.m. Wednesday, stole an undisclosed sum of money and walked out unmolested.

Keith is said to be upset and is demanding the man be caught.

According to employees at the club, the suspect walked through a door, down a hallway, found the bar and an unattended cash register. He helped himself to the money and escaped. Unfortunately for him, it was all caught on tape.

"We are concerned that this individual came in the middle of the day for an opportunity of easy money, and we wanted to get the word out that there is no such thing as easy money here at BelMar Golf Club," said Jenni Kennedy, BelMar's membership director.

That's why Keith encouraged employees to contact News 9 and go public with the surveillance video.

"Our goal is to find this person, prosecute him and convict him," Kennedy said.

BelMar employees said they believe the suspect is a desperate man who saw a crime of opportunity, but the only problem they said is that he stole from the wrong man.

"He is angry. Toby is very angry," Kennedy said.

She said it is important to Keith and everyone who works at the golf club that their members feel safe and that's the reason why Keith wants the suspect off the street.

"He wants to make sure that people are held responsible for bad behavior," she said.

Keith is offering a reward. The specific amount has not been disclosed, but it is described as "generous."

Keith and his staff are encouraging anyone who has seen the man in the surveillance video to call police immediately.
