Pottawatomie County Toddler's Death Ruled A Homicide

EARLSBORO, Oklahoma -- The Pottawatomie County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a 2-year-old boy.

Justin Netzel stopped breathing Sunday morning while at his grandparent's house in Earlsboro. The Oklahoma Medical Examiner's Office ruled the child died from a blunt force injury to his stomach, and classified the death as a homicide.

The Pottawatomie County district attorney says it investigates all suspicious child deaths.

A funeral for Justin will be held Thursday in Holdenville.

A memorial fund has been set up for Justin Netzel. Contributions can be made to the memorial fund through the Bank NA, located at 1701 E. Highway Street, Holdenville, OK 74848. Make donations in care of Julie or Justin Netzel.
