OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Oklahoma City RedHawks fell behind four runs in the seventh inning and attempted a comeback, but were unable to overcome the deficit, falling to the New Orleans Zephyrs 4-3 Saturday.

New Orleans (35-35) jumped out to a two-run lead in the top of the third inning, and added two more thanks to a two-out double from Joe Thurston. The shot to center field scored Josh Kroeger and Matt Dominguez to push the advantage to four runs.

The RedHawks (29-41) scored their first run in the bottom of the seventh, thanks to a wild pitch from Zephyrs' reliever Chris Sampson to cut the lead to two runs.

With two outs on the board and the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth, Brandon Barnes reached on an error at short stop, allowing Brian Bogusevic and Brian Esposito to score and cut the deficit to one run. New Orleans walked RBI-threat Koby Clemens to pitch to Drew Locke, who hit a fly ball to center field to end the game.

Chris Sampson (4-0) remained perfect on the season for New Orleans, allowing just four hits and one earned run, while striking out seven in his seven innings of service for the Zephyrs. Gustavo Chacin received a loss for the outing, giving up two earned runs on seven hits in six innings pitched.

Oklahoma City will try to snap its skid against New Orleans at 4:05 p.m. Sunday, before concluding the home stand at 7:05 p.m. Monday.
