OKLAHOMA CITY -- Did you ever?

That's the theme of this year's summer camps starting June 20 at Science Museum Oklahoma. For example: "Did you ever make your own slime?" "Did you ever throw stuff off a 50-foot building?"

"I like to think of the Did You Ever? Summer camps as giving kids an all access back stage pass to everything," said Shannon Sommers, summer camp warden at Science Museum Oklahoma.

"The campers really get a hands-on chance to approach something like a tornado in an artistic, mathematical, physical, musical, problem solving, playtime, take it apart and put it back together way. This is great because each kid learns differently and this gives them the freedom to try something new in their own way."

The camps will take place over six weeks starting June 20, with other week-long camps starting June 27, July 4, July 11, July 18 and July 25.

Hours are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day and are open to students in first through sixth grade. Admission to summer camps includes a commemorative T-shirt, lunch each day and hands-on science experiences to keep kids busy the entire week.

In addition to the activities available for campers, the camp will also feature live appearances from wild animals, the Sugar Free All Stars, Ringling Brothers and many more.

"If you need a place to store your kids during these summer months I can't think of a better place than the Did You Ever? Summer Camps," said Chris Wilkerson, science programs coordinator at Science Museum Oklahoma.

"When the weather outside gets as hot as it does this time of year this is a really great way to keep your kids busy in a positive way that keeps them out of the heat," he said.

"Plus parents might be surprised at the amount of science information their kids will teach them at the dinner table every night."
