OKLAHOMA CITY -- Oklahomans will be able to pay their last respects to civil rights pioneer Clara Luper when she lies in state at the Oklahoma State Capitol this week.

Luper died in Oklahoma City on June 9 at the age of 88. Governor Mary Fallin announced Monday Luper will lay in state on the first floor of the capitol building on Thursday, June 16, from noon till 4 p.m. Everyone is invited to come say goodbye to the woman who helped end segregation in Oklahoma when she staged a sit-in at KATZ Drugstore in August 1958.
