CHOCTAW, Oklahoma -- A standoff in Choctaw that forced two Nicoma Park Schools to go on lockdown has ended.

A man had barricaded himself in a Choctaw home Monday. Oklahoma County Sheriff's deputies said he did not have any hostages, but he threatened to hurt himself.

Around 1:30 Monday afternoon, police said the man ran out the house, got into his SUV and drove down the street. The man was quickly stopped by authorities and surrendered.

Deputies took him to a local hospital for a mental evaluation.

Two nearby schools, Nicoma Park Elementary and Junior High, were put on lockdown as a precaution during the standoff.
