Suspect's Attempt To Flee Del City Police Leads To Hospital Stay

DEL CITY, Oklahoma -- A suspect's attempt to speed away from Del City police ended with a trip to the hospital.

Police say they tried to pull the man over Sunday night because he was driving without his headlights on. Officers say the suspect refused to stop and led them on a short chase into Oklahoma City.

Officers say the suspect eventually jumped out of his car near S.E. 44th Street and Bryant, and tried to run away, but he fell into a drainage ditch and dislocated his hip. Emergency crews pulled him out and took him to the hospital. He was also arrested.

No word yet on what charges he may face, or why he was running from police.
