OKLAHOMA CITY – A man was arrested for assaulting an Oklahoma City police officer and records show he has a history of violence against police.
Billy McKinney was arrested Friday night for assault and battery of a police officer, resisting arrest and public intoxication.
A spokesperson for the Oklahoma City Police Department said McKinney was pulled over for a traffic stop, but when he got out of the car, he spit on the police officer and got into an altercation with the officer.
McKinney was convicted in 2008 for assaulting an undercover police officer at the Half-Time Sports Bar in Newcastle.
He was also questioned in the assault on officer Chad Perry, but investigators determined he was not involved in that fight and he was never charged.
