OKLAHOMA CITY -- Oklahoma City Mayor Mick Cornett shared the current status and his plans for the future of Oklahoma City Thursday during his State of the City address.

The mayor celebrated the city's resilient economy seen through the double digit revenue growth and the lowest unemployment rate in the country.

"We came out of the recession last March, April and we've been running in double digit growth from the revenue standpoint, so I think the economy is moving in a positive direction," Cornett said.

In a one-on-one interview, Cornett said the unity of our city is one of the things he enjoys most about his position.

"The unity that exists in this city is not duplicated anywhere else," Cornett said. "In this city we've got so many people pulling on the same rope and when the business community and the mayor and the city council are all on the same page, it's amazing what can be done and that's what we're seeing."

Cornett also announced during his speech that almost 650,000 pounds have been lost in Oklahoma City during the last four years as part of the "This City's Going on a Diet" campaign.
