PRYOR, Oklahoma -- The family of a man murdered almost two years ago is shocked to find out his wife is accused of a helping kill him.

Wendy Cobb was arrested Monday in Jenks. Her husband died in a suspicious house fire in April 2009 in Mayes County.

Investigators arrested her boyfriend in connection with Mike Cobb's death, but now they've charged her too.

The arrest affidavit says Wendy Cobb approached her then-boyfriend Nicolas Shires in early 2009 about finding someone to kill her husband.

It says Shires claimed she offered to pay $10,000 to $20,000 depending on how much money she got from either the home or life insurance settlement.

In April 2009, Shires says he hit Michael Cobb in the head with a baseball bat. Police say Cobb's official cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head.

Shires says he dragged Cobb's body into the home which he lit on fire using gasoline. He then called Wendy Cobb and told her to meet him there.

According to his statement, when she arrived she kissed him and said, "Thank you, I love you, talk to you later."

"It's kind of a cold case from the outside looking in. Referring to the person that did this is awful cold. Took a lot of vengeance," said Lieutenant Albert McKee, Mayes County Sheriff's Office.

Tuesday, Michael Cobb's family says they are shocked by the events and cannot describe their emotions.

"It's not over. And the question is will it ever be over? I don't care what's happened and stuff, but it won't ever be over," said Bobby Cobb, victim's brother.

Cobb was supposed to be arraigned Tuesday, but the judge postponed it until January 18th.
