OKLAHOMA CITY -- A group of angry parents and guardians want the Oklahoma City Public School District to fire one of its bus drivers.

They said the bus driver hit, pushed and yelled at several students riding the bus home from Martin Luther King Elementary School Wednesday afternoon.

"She assaulted them," said Corean Brothers, whose granddaughter was one of the children on the bus. "It was verbal and physical abuse. She pushed my daughter, and she got up in her face and almost touched her nose yelling at the children. She called the kids the ‘B' word and told them to 'Get off my bus you ugly kids. You all are ghetto.'"

Brothers notified the principal, the district and the transportation supervisor about the incident. She also filed a police report.

"We don't want her suspended," said Brothers. "We want her terminated."

Brothers said the driver also forced one child to sit on the front step of the school bus all the way home.

"She's there for protection, for the safety of our children from that school to that bus stop till they get home and instead she endangered the lives of not just my daughter but at least minimum 50 children," said Brothers.

"They are supposed to be protected not harmed and yesterday, they were harmed," said Heather Moreno, whose two children were also on the bus.

District Spokesperson Tierney Cook-Tinnin said the driver normally drives a different route, but was filling in on this route Wednesday afternoon.

Tinnin said their transportation director did speak with the concerned parents and guardians Wednesday and Thursday morning and is investigating the claims.

They are not making a public comment at this time but said the bus driver has never had a complaint on her regular route.

This is the second incident of an Oklahoma City school bus driver coming under fire for their behavior in the past four months. A lawsuit has been filed in the first case.
