OKLAHOMA CITY – A man accused of breaking into his family's home and stabbing the family dog to death has been arrested.

According to an Oklahoma City police affidavit, 25-year-old Christopher Poston broke into his family's house and stabbed the family's 6-year-old black Labrador retriever. The affidavit also states Poston "sucker punched" his father so hard that he was sent to the hospital.

According to the court document, "while the [father] was stunned [Poston] beat him severely."

However, the record shows by the time police arrived Poston had left the scene. In the meantime the affidavit shows Poston's father "signed a citation against [Poston] for assault and battery."

The document goes on to show once Poston's parents left to go to the hospital, Poston returned to his parents house, broke in through one of the home's windows and killed the dog.

The report goes on to say after killing the dog, Poston preceded to call his parents and tell them he had killed Sammy. After several hours of looking for the dog, the affidavit said the dog was found in the family's trash can. About 30 minutes after finding the dog, Poston was eventually arrested.

"It was very sad seeing our baby in our trash bag. It was sad, it had been recent because [she] was still warm, but all of her blood was gone," said Sally Poston, Christopher's mother.

Poston now faces one count of domestic abuse, one count of second-degree burglary, and a one count of cruelty to animals.

Oklahoma City's Animal Welfare Division released an autopsy that had been completed on Sammy. The autopsy revealed the dog had been stabbed a total of 17 times. Several of the stabbings were labeled as "thru and thru" meaning those stabbings were done with such force the knife went through the body of the animal. The report also revealed both of Sammy's lungs had been punctured.

"I feel like my one child killed my other child and that's how I feel about it," said Sally Poston.

Poston's bond has been sent at $250,000.

Poston's mother went on to say, "This is psychotic, this is serial killer bad. Someone who can do this to an animal could very well do this to a person and I don't think he should ever get out. I'm sure he will but I don't ever want to see him."

Family has since issued a protection order against their son, marking the third time they've done so since 2003.
