MOORE, Oklahoma – Friends came together to pray for the victims as Moore police continue to investigate why one teen was stabbed to death and another left for dead inside a Moore home last week.

Raymond McMasters is still fighting for his life at OU Medical Center after someone brutally stabbed the 18-year-old at a home in Moore Wednesday. Josephine Francisco-Herrera died in the attack.

McMasters' family remained by his side in the hospital while his friends hoped sharing a few prayers at a vigil Sunday would help him pull through.

"I've seen a lot of kids, their hearts are broken because of what happened, violence like this in this situation is heart breaking," said one pastor during the vigil.

Over 30 people, many of them McMasters' closest friends, attended the vigil and took turns saying a prayer for him and Josephine Francisco-Herrera.

"Just been kind of sitting here in the dark, listening to the news, praying and hoping he'll come out of it," said McMasters' best friend Tanner Owen. "Every now and then I'll call his cell and see if he'll answer it."

McMasters and Francisco-Herrera were both attacked in a Moore home Wednesday afternoon where McMasters had been living.

"He was always trying to get out of trouble. He was never the one to go towards it, cause it, or anything else. It was just a senseless, mindless attack," said Owen.

J.D. Cochnaur never met the teens, but after learning what happened, he said the vigil was where he needed to be.

"I'm a prayerful man and I pray for this situation and God...put it in His hands and let Him take care of it," said Cochnaur.

Moore police say they have few leads in their investigation. Right now, they're focusing is on interviewing people who knew both teens.

McMasters' friends said they are currently working on starting a fundraiser because they want to help him with payments for his new car while he is in the hospital.

The last update News 9 received listed the 18-year-old in serious condition. Right now the hospital is not releasing any more details.
