Investigators Search For Cause of Fire at Del City Apartment Building

DEL CITY, Oklahoma -- A vacant Del City apartment building smoldered for hours after crews extinguished an intense fire.

Firefighters arrived Friday at 11:30 p.m. to the Eagle Point Apartments on Scott Street near Interstate 40. Flames had engulfed one of the vacant buildings. Crews were able to contain the flames to one structure, protecting nearby buildings and a residential area.

No one was injured.

Investigators said they don't know yet what started the fire. They said someone may have intentionally started it, or someone may have set a fire to keep warm and it accidentally spread.
