OKLAHOMA CITY -- A federal judge sentenced a Duncan man to more than 15 years in prison for conspiring to steal a drug used to make methamphetamine.

According to court records, 38-year-old Adam Rene Richard and another man, 36-year-old Richard Bishop, conspired between December 2003 and October 2004 to steal pharmaceutical grade ephedrine from a laboratory in Oklahoma City where Bishop worked. The stolen ephedrine was then sold to known methamphetamine manufacturers.

Richard pled guilty Thursday and was sentenced to 180 months in federal prison. The judge also ordered him to serve an additional six months for a probation revocation related to a prior federal firearms conviction.

Bishop pled guilty in May and was also sentenced to 180 months in federal prison.
