Suspect Taken into Custody After Pursuit Near OKC Zoo

OKLAHOMA CITY -- A suspect was arrested after a short pursuit near the Oklahoma City Zoo.

An Oklahoma County Sheriff's deputy attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle, but the suspect refused to stop. The deputy pursued the suspect until they stopped in the 5000 block of Richardson Avenue around 4:30 p.m.

The driver took off on foot, but the passenger was taken into custody following a confrontation where the deputy was forced to use pepper spray to detain the passenger.

Oklahoma City Police Department Air-1 and the OCSO K-9 unit searched the area for the driver.

The suspect was arrested at about 5:30 p.m.

No names have been released.
