Man Arrested After Failing to Register as Sex Offender

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office warrant team arrested a man on a warrant for failure to register as a sex offender.

The warrant team had been searching for Timothy DeWayne Wright for several days.

Deputies set up surveillance at an apartment in the 6300 block of N.W. 10th Street in Oklahoma City and were able to find the 36-year-old. Wright was taken into custody without incident.

Wright's original case was in Carter County where he was convicted in 1997 on one count of first degree rape, two counts of crime against nature, and one count of lewd/indecent acts to a child.

Wright is currently being held at the Oklahoma County Detention Center.
